A lower hardware price can make physical experimentation accessible to more developers. FF Nova’s current store page lists a $2,490 MSRP for a compact embodied-AI platform, while its product page expects initial Phase One shipments by the end of November and broader preorder shipments around January 2027.

Current impact

The 497mm, approximately 2.8kg robot combines a small bipedal body with a detachable wheeled base and a developer interface. It should be evaluated as that product, not as a low-priced substitute for an industrial worker. Shipping expectations are also distinct from delivered units.

Potential greater impact

The near-term opportunity is less expensive access to sensing, control and simulation-to-real experiments. If the platform proves reliable and well supported, more teams could test ideas on hardware before committing to larger systems. Its size and operating envelope limit which results transfer to full-scale machines.

What would establish progress

Total experimentation cost includes development time, repairs, support and the effort needed to reproduce a behavior. Watch delivered-unit reports and software compatibility rather than MSRP alone. The broader impact would be a larger base of useful physical-AI experiments, conditional on actual availability and dependable operation.
